Dragon Boat Club

Fun, teamwork, competition
Shun Hing College Dragon Boat Club (also known as the Shun Hing Dragons) was established in 2014 as a sports and recreation club for residents. We involve individuals in the team spirit of paddling by instilling a sense of fun and community within Shun Hing College through various other leisure activities.

With a history of over 2,000 years, dragon boat racing is a tradition deeply rooted in Chinese culture. Modern dragon boat competitions emerged as an international sport in Hong Kong in 1976, and have since spread to over 20 countries around the world.
The Shun Hing Dragons reflect the multicultural and multinational nature of the sport and College, encouraging residents of all backgrounds to participate and become part of the Shun Hing College legacy.

Mission Statement

“The Shun Hing Dragons, through a residential college-based and volunteer-driven approach, aims to instill a passion for dragon boating – fun, teamwork and competition – in all Shun Hingers. We achieve this by means of training, coaching, and mutual support, with an emphasis on safety and recreation along the beautiful beaches of Hong Kong.”
