On behalf of the hard-working tutorial team at Shun Hing College, I wish to extend to everyone a very warm welcome.

To returning residents, welcome back.
To new residents, a special welcome to the Shun Hing family.

I am also writing to invite you to the exciting orientation activities that our tutors and fellow residents have put together for you.

This year, for the first time, Shun Hing College has organised a week of activities that will challenge your creativity and imagination while introducing you to Kennedy Town, our fast-changing neighbourhood. These activities, including film and radio production, and water painting, are designed to unleash the hidden talents in everyone of us.

Yes, you can film, paint and produce radio programmes. You can do it while enjoying every minute of it. We invite you to accept the creativity challenge.

In addition, we have also planned a hiking trip and an afternoon boating at Hong Kong’s famed Stanley Beach, capped with an evening BBQ under the stars.

For details of the orientation programme, see

Do sign up asap since the limited slots will be given on a first-come-first-served basis.

I wish to invite in particular our new residents to the orientation activities, so that you’ll get to know quickly your fellow residents and our neighbourhood. When applying to SH College, everyone of you has pledged to contribute to the College community. Now this is your opportunity to make good those promises.

Returning residents are of course most welcome to take part and help welcome our new residents.

Welcome again and I look forward to meeting everybody at the College.

With very best wishes for a fabulous and productive year,

Ying Chan
